How will you make an impact in this role?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician to join our Tonic POS team based in Atlanta, GA. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for our clients, including merchants and partners. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration:
  • Install Tonic POS hardware and software at customer locations.
  • Ensure all components are properly set up, tested, and operational.
Technical Support:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to POS systems, including hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Provide on-site and remote support as needed.
Customer Training:   
  • Train clients on using the POS system, ensuring they understand its functionality and features.
  • Offer guidance and best practices to maximize system efficiency.
Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability.
  • Replace or repair hardware components as required.
Documentation and Reporting:    
  • Maintain detailed service records, including installation reports, repair logs, and client interactions.
  • Communicate issues, updates, and resolutions effectively with the internal support team.
This is a hybrid role with travel expectations within the Atlanta region to client sites, with up to 25% travel outside the Atlanta area as required.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills: 
  • Experience with POS systems, IT networks, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based systems and basic networking concepts.
Education & Experience: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
  • 2+ years of technical support, IT, or field service experience preferred.

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, and working in varying environments.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with travel as required
