How will you make an impact in this role?
As a Defect Triage Coordinator, you’ll be the first line of analysis for internal production bug reports. This role acts as the primary liaison between our Support team and Development teams, ensuring that reported defects are thoroughly reviewed, accurately reproduced, and appropriately prioritized. You will assess the nature of each issue, determine whether it's a software defect, configuration problem, or functioning as designed, and help guide it to the correct team for resolution.
This position plays a vital part in improving turnaround time, reducing noise for engineers, and increasing our support team efficiency.

How will you make an impact in this role?
As a Defect Triage Coordinator, you’ll be the first line of analysis for internal production bug reports. What will you be doing on a day-to-day basis?
- Review incoming production defect tickets submitted via Jira or internal support channels.
- Reproduce and validate reported issues, gathering supporting evidence (logs, screenshots, reproduction steps).
- Analyze each issue to determine severity, impact, and priority.
- Identify whether the issue is a bug, configuration problem, or expected behavior.
- Collaborate with development leads and product managers to assign valid defects to the appropriate team.
- Track the status of defects and escalate blockers or urgent issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly with the Support team on the outcome of triage activities, next steps, and timelines when appropriate.
- Maintain documentation for triaged issues, resolution patterns, and common troubleshooting workflows.
- Spot trends in recurring issues and suggest upstream improvements where appropriate.
- Assist with hotfix and patch validation coordination as needed.
- Work directly with developers and explain issues to them.
- Are detail-oriented, curious, and persistent when isolating and reproducing issues.
- Know how to distinguish between technical defects and non-issues like user error or misconfiguration.
- Communicate clearly and tactfully with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Enjoy solving puzzles and improving clarity for teams downstream.
- Stay organized and calm when multiple urgent tickets are in play.
Top Candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Experience working in a support, QA, or technical coordination role.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools like Jira; ability to write clear ticket comments and steps to reproduce.
- Basic knowledge of software development concepts, Agile workflows, and bug lifecycle management.
- Comfort navigating logs, test environments, and application behavior across different OS platforms (Windows, Android, iOS).
- Industry experience in POS, payments, or hospitality tech is a strong plus.
